Jørgen Bækmark's J80 chair is the epitome of the qualities that helped define FDB Mobler's golden age: It is obviously functional, comfortable and with a timeless design that emphasizes the furniture craftsmanship that is the guiding principle in Jørgen Bækmark's work. The turned oak sticks and
the braided seat exudes the natural quality and material selection that is at least as relevant today as when the chair was created in the 1950s. For generations, it has been the safe choice for the dining room, where both design and comfort were appreciated. But it has also been used in other contexts where you need a good seat.

Jørgen Bækmark (b. 1919) became head of FDB Møbler's design studio in 1958 and is the only living designer of FDB Møbler from this era. Jørgen Bækmark graduated from the School of Arts and Crafts and the Academy of Fine Arts, but was originally a carpenter. The link between design and craftsmanship is pervasive in his work. In his time in FDB Mobler was known to be deeply concerned with the smallest details in the production.
